5 Must Have Knives When You Are Going For Hunting

Hunting is no doubt a very serious activity which should be initiated by those people who have a real enthusiast in this field. It takes immense skills, patience and perseverance to be possessed by an individual before being outside for hours, sometime at day and nights. Having the right gear packed in your Bug Out Bag can help you get the job done right when you are out for hunting trips.
Hunting Accessories Knife India
Hunting knives is the most important tools you must never forget to take along with you. Hunters are usually confused and not able to decide what the best hunting accessories they should are kept along with them, so that there will not or chance of any threat or so.

Today I am going to give my opinion on the 5 must have knives for hunting. But before that I would like to categorize the types of hunting knives:

Folding Knives Vs Fixed Blade Knives
Folding knives have a blade which gets folded into the handle like any average pocket knife. Whereas the fixed blade knives are just the opposite of folding knives as they do not fold, but usually strapped onto the user with a sheath.

Blade Size
When you are out to find the best hunting knife, you should first decide that what blade size would be the best for your hunting trip. If you are a big game hunter, then definitely you will need a long strong blade. And if you think that you will be after rabbits and other small creatures, then the small blade size would be enough for you.

Blade Materials
Hunting knives are generally falling into the main two categories in the context of the materials which are used in the manufacturing of the knife blade. There is always a contradiction between the Carbon Steel knives that maintain their edge longer Vs Stainless Steel knives that resist rust.

Blade Shape
Hunting knives have an optimal shape that assists the hunter in skinning and dressing the game.
It is always said that hunting knives are the best friend of any hunter. So here are my 5 must have hunting knives for all the hunters out there.

Hunting knife, Camping knife, Fixed Blade knifeHunting Knives

Gerber Air Ranger
It is the most tough knife and super-light, comes with a blade over 3 inches long. I like the half serrated blade that chews through cordage, cattails and half-inch branches that some trimming. The open CDC aluminum scales make for a perfect beer bottle opener.

Folding knife, Pocket knife, Ka Bar
Ka-Bar Becker BK2 Campanion
The Ka-Bar Becker BK2 is a hulk of a knife. It is a thick, full-tang knife that is the definitive massive knife. The thick blade is capable of taking a lot of abuse and I mean a lot. The whole knife is over 10 inches long and has an ergonomically designed handle that will, even with the absence of conventional “grippy” surface, ensure that it will not slip off your hands.

Folding knife, Hutning knife, Campign knifeSpyderco Salt I
The steel of this knife will cut shrimp for surf fishing and never rust no matter how long it bangs around, forgotten, in your tackle box. Spyderco uses H-1 steel in a number of knives in the Salt series, but this is my favorite. The semi-blunt tip protects waders from gashes, there’s an oversized thumb hole so you can open the knife with gloves, and the metal fittings are treated for rust prevention. And the trim, folding design fits in wader pockets.

Fixed Blade knife, Hunting knife, Camping knife
Morakniv Companion
The Morakniv Companion  is a tough and durable knife that can perform well in the outdoors. The Mora Companion has a very sturdy blade made from high carbon steel that holds an edge extremely well. The blade is attached to a patterned high-friction grip that ensures you a safe and dependable handle on things. This knife is great for filleting, skinning and other minor camping or outdoors activity, but is not your knife of choice for hardcore outdoors tasks like bushwhacking. With that being said, the only issue with Mora knives is that the blade is made from high carbon steel which is not resistant to rusting.

Gerber Gator
Fixed Blade knife, Hunting knife, Camping knifeA fillet knife needs to be flexible and thin and drippy, but most of all, it needs to be sharp. With an integrated ceramic knife sharpener in the sheath, the Gerber Gator fillet is all that, and stays all that, fish after fish.

So that’s my take on the 5 must have knives for hunting.

I also want to conclude that there might be several other knives which might also be perfect for hunting, which I might have skipped. But I have made my own assumption for these knives to be the best ones for hunting.

Today there might be many options to buy knives online, but you have to pick the best one for you. I would definitely appreciate any views of yours in the above context or any points I might be missing.
